Corono Chlorophyllys

i've been so busy, but over the past couple weeks I've been coloring this sketch on and off.

Corono Chlorophyllys is a species of silicate-carbon beings that are, in essence, walking trees. They are classified technically as plants, as they obtain 98% of their daily energy from basking in solar winds. They are tall with simple exoskeletons made of the calcium and silica they absorb through water, and the internal muscular system is incredibly strong and moves with elegant intention. The stone shells crack and split over time, but there are no pain receptors anywhere across the skeleton. Only the fleshy mossy parts of their bodies are sensitive to radiation, temperature, and other stimuli. They communicate quietly, using a variety of hormones to be received by either set of "eyes", vacuous noses that see in surround smell. The chambers are highly filtered with many sets of different hairs, and they transmit information directly into the brain, creating a powerful image of smell-o-vision. Also, highly sophisticated, sensitive, and a race of fantastic poets.
